I often look for things, consumer goods like electronics, or software and apps, and find options that are _close_, but not exactly what I want or need. Then I go down the path of finding the next best thing, or combination of things, to solve my problem, and move on. Rarely do I return to that thing to check on progress. In other words, I abandon the promising in favor of the immediate. This is perhaps a character flaw. I've decided I need to commit these items to a wishlist to continually remind myself to revisit these ideas in pursuit of finding the better or best solution.

**Consumer Electronics**

- **An USB-C to HDMI converter with no built-in cables, and PDI pass-through charging via USB-C**. I want a small rectangular device that looks like a streaming stick, with a female HDMI port on one and two USB-C female ports on the other. There are options that are close to this, but they come with a USB-C pigtail. In my tech bag, I already have USB-C / Thunderbolt cables that can do video and charging, I don't want the extra bulk of another cable that can't be swapped out for a different size when needed. Having a male HDMI port would work, but sometimes hotel TVs only have HDMI ports on the rear, so ideally I could add a right-angle cable myself. 9/29/2026.
